1. Introduction
At Gitarologia, we are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data with care. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have when you visit our site, purchase our courses, or interact with our services. We encourage you to read it carefully.
2. Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect the information you provide: your email address, username, and optionally a display name, profile picture, and short biography. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider instead of a password. As you use the platform, we record your learning activity, including which courses you have access to, which lessons you have completed, your practice history, achievements, personal notes, and saved songs. If you take part in the community, we store the posts, replies and messages you write. When you make a purchase, we keep a record of the transaction, including the order reference, the amount, the currency and the date.
We do not collect or store your card or bank details. Payments are handled entirely by our payment provider, and we never see that information.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to operate your account and give you access to the courses you have purchased, to track your learning progress and award achievements, to enable the community features you choose to use, to send you service messages such as account verification and password resets, to respond to your support enquiries, and to diagnose technical problems so we can keep the service working.
4. Cookies
We use a cookie to keep you signed in between visits, and to remember display preferences such as your chosen theme. These are necessary for the site to function. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not sell your data to advertisers.
5. Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the service: a payment provider to process purchases, an email provider to deliver account and support messages, and an error-monitoring provider to alert us to technical faults. Each receives only the minimum information needed to perform its function, is bound to keep it confidential, and may not use it for its own purposes.
6. Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Beyond the providers described above, we share information only where the law requires it, or in response to a valid request from a public authority. Please note that anything you post publicly in the community — posts, replies, your username and profile picture — is visible to other users by design.
7. Data security
We take the security of your personal information seriously and apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, use or disclosure. Passwords are never stored in a readable form, and the site is served over an encrypted connection. No security measure is perfect, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your account credentials confidential.
8. Your rights and deleting your account
You may access, correct or update your personal information at any time from your profile and settings pages.
You can delete your account yourself from Dashboard, Settings, Delete account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and profile picture, your saved songs and notes, your practice history and achievements, your community posts, replies and messages, and your purchase records. This cannot be undone, and any courses you have purchased will no longer be accessible. This applies equally to accounts created with Google or Facebook sign-in. If you cannot access your account, email us from the address you registered with and we will delete it on your behalf.
You may also ask us to restrict how we process your data, or withdraw your consent, by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
9. Children
Gitarologia is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. Users under the age of 18 should have the permission of a parent or guardian before creating an account or making a purchase.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. We will notify you of material changes by email to the address associated with your account. Your continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
11. Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or about how we handle your data, please contact us at gitarologia.com@gmail.com or through the contact page on this site.
1. Acceptance of terms
Welcome to Gitarologia, a platform dedicated to learning the guitar. By using our site and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please stop using our services. Your access to the site constitutes acceptance of these terms, and you may be asked to confirm your acceptance when registering or making a purchase.
2. Changes to these terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes may follow from changes in legislation, updates to our services, or changes to our operating policies. We will notify you of material changes by email to the address associated with your account. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically. Continued use of the services after a change takes effect will be treated as acceptance of the new terms. If you do not agree with a change, please stop using our services.
3. Registration and account security
To access certain features, such as purchasing courses and taking part in community discussions, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during registration, and to keep it up to date. Your account is personal to you. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. We recommend using a strong password and changing it regularly. If you suspect unauthorised use of your account, notify us immediately. We are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your failure to meet this obligation.
4. Course access
When you purchase a course, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access its content for your personal use. This licence allows you to view and interact with the course materials as intended. Sharing or redistributing any part of the course content without the express permission of Gitarologia is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of your account. We take this seriously in order to protect the intellectual property rights of our creators.
5. Payments and refunds
As a rule, all sales are final. Course content is delivered digitally and access is granted immediately upon successful payment, so purchases cannot normally be cancelled once access has been granted. We may, however, offer a refund at our discretion in exceptional circumstances — for example where a technical fault on our side prevents access to a course you have paid for. Each request is assessed individually on its own facts, and a refund in one case does not create an entitlement in another. Prices are shown in the currency indicated at checkout and are payable in advance. If you believe you were charged in error, or you paid but did not receive access to your course, contact us at gitarologia.com@gmail.com and we will investigate.
6. Intellectual property rights
All content on the Gitarologia site, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, video, audio and course materials, is the property of Gitarologia or its licensors, and is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute or create derivative works from any of this content without our express written permission. This includes copying course materials, republishing content on other sites, or using our intellectual property for commercial purposes.
The name Gitarologia, the Gitarologia logo, and any associated names, marks and designs are trademarks of Gitarologia. They may not be used without our prior written permission, including in a way that suggests any association with, or endorsement by, Gitarologia. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
You retain ownership of the content you post in the community. By posting it, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display and store it as part of operating the service.
7. User conduct
You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to use the site in any way that breaches applicable law or regulation, or that is unlawful or fraudulent. You further agree not to engage in conduct that restricts or inhibits any other user from using or enjoying the site, or that in our judgement may harm the Gitarologia brand or its users, or expose them to liability. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if we believe you have breached these Terms.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, or as a result of faults or circumstances outside our control. The service is provided on an as-is basis, without warranties of any kind.
9. Governing law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal dispute arising from these terms will be resolved under the laws of that jurisdiction.
10. Contact
